Integrated evidence leads to six figure grant

A community organization submitted a grant proposal requesting funding for multi-year program matching seniors to community-based groups that served young children. The foundation was interested in the proposal but requested research evidence showing that these types of programs resulted in positive outcomes for seniors.

The community organization conducted their own research but had not been able to find any relevant literature. They turned to Green Heron Information Services and requested a thorough search of academic and grey literature.

Green Heron Information Services performed an intensive search using a combination of databases and unconventional search tools and identified 24 relevant papers. This research served as the evidence base for a revised proposal, resulting in the foundation's approval of a multi-year six figure grant.
